Since the beginning of this site in January 2006, Pastor C. D. Brooks is the number one searched for preacher. I have analyzed the Google searches that have caused people to end up at SabbathPulpit.com and Pastor Charles Brooks is the number one preacher by far to bring people here.

I began to think about why this is? I have come up with four reasons.

Brooks is an Effective Preacher

One cannot help but be caught by the effectiveness of his presentation. When listening to him you find an earnestness, a certainty, as well as a pointedness. When Pastor Brooks is preaching, you come to the conclusion that he believes what he is preaching and he believes what he is preaching is important.

When I was around the Oakwood area, I can remember the theological students passing around tapes of great preachers. Pastor Brooks was always one of those preachers. I am not around adventist theological students today and thus I do not know who they are listening to, but I would hope that Pastor Brooks is still on their listening list.

Brooks is Unapologetically Adventist

Pastor Brooks does not pussyfoot around it, he believes in Adventism. He believes that Jesus is coming soon and that Jesus is coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle.

There are many today who are looking for people who believe that message. There are many people who still believe that holiness is attached to Adventism and that Jesus not only forgives, but also cleanses from all unrighteousness.

Pastor Brooks stands as one of those old preachers who still preach the message that many of us grew up hearing. I think that we must continue to look for insight into the doctrines that Christ has providentially placed in this movement, but we must never allow this pushing the boundaries to mean a setting aside. Pastor Brooks stands as a testament to the importance and value of our message, "ALL OF IT."

Evangelistic Oriented

Pastor Brooks sermons that are floating around are largely evangelistic. Sometimes preachers begin to run into problems when they spend more and more time attacking the church and less time building it up. Certainly there is a time to speak the truth to the church, but when more and more time is spend attacking, slowly the message that is preached becomes distorted.

Without an evangelistic thrust, the message becomes distorted either too lax or too harsh. Pastor Brooks has dodged both extremes by keeping his message Evangelistic-oriented.

Authoritative

As noted above, Brooks preaches with authority. It may be his deep belief in the message. It may be his closeness to God and devotion to spirituality. But whatever it is, Brooks preaches with authority. And that is another important reason why Brooks is such a valued preacher.

Conclusion

Charles Brooks is a great Adventist preacher. I have listened to him off and on for much of my life. When you think of "great" Adventist preachers Brooks name will show up on most lists. Why is this? It is at least because he is an effective preacher, unapologetically Adventist, evangelistic oriented, and he preaches authoritatively.
